Supplementary equipment for CAB lines

The typical system for a heat exchanger brazing line contains any number of complementary components. In addition to furnaces, the production line contains degreasers, fluxers, dryers and cooling systems for heat exchangers, located downstream from the furnace.

Degreasers

During the process of forming and machining heat exchangers, for example forming the fins, lubricating oil is used. The oil has to be removed prior to start of the flux application process and subsequent brazing. Degreasers are used for thermal removal of oil from the heat exchangers. They may be part of the complete brazing line or used as stand-alone equipment. They usually consist of several heating zones fed with suitable airflow depending on the quantity and type of oil to be removed. We offer degreasers with electric and gas heating or using heat recovered from the afterburner (incinerator) where oil vapors mixed with air are combusted. The process of neutralizing this mixture is made by combustion in a chamber called an afterburner, which is equipped with an open-flame gas burner and connected to the atmosphere by an extraction duct.

Fluxers

The cleaned heat exchanger is covered with a suitable layer of brazing and flux mixture prior to start of the brazing process.

We deliver the following types of fluxers:

Spray fluxers The spray method is used to apply chemical suspensions mixed with water. This is the most widespread method and the most often used.

Painting fluxers This equipment is specifically intended for heat exchanger elements that are not accessible by spray fluxers.

Immersion fluxers Some heat exchangers available on the market feature a design that requires application of flux to internal spaces. In this case, the spray application of the flux does not assure appropriate preparation of the joint for brazing. SECO/WARWICK immersion fluxers are a solution to this problem.

Electrostatic fluxers are an alternative to “wet fluxing,” as they do not require a flux water solution to prepare.

Dryers

During the process of applying flux to the heat exchangers, prior to brazing, the heat exchangers undergo thermal evaporation. The dryer is designed as a low-temperature through furnace, often containing  a number of heating zones. Our products include dryers with electric and gas heating. The heat recovery system is an option for a gas-heated brazing furnace.

Cooling systems and equipment
Equipment for rapid cooling of the heat exchangers before they are unloaded is situated downstream of the furnace.
